AI receptionist for dental offices
Your front desk is checking patients in, and the phone is ringing again. Voxlivo picks up the calls they can't, after hours, at lunch and during the morning rush, takes the appointment request and sends your team a clean summary.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. No card needed, we do the setup, and you only pay if you keep it.
Receptionist: Thanks for calling Maple Family Dental. I'm the virtual assistant, and this call may be recorded. How can I help?
Caller: Hi, I'm new to the area and looking for a dentist for a cleaning.
Receptionist: Welcome, we'd be happy to see you. Can I get your name and the best number to reach you?
Caller: Sarah Kim, 617 555 0123.
Receptionist: Thanks Sarah, that's 6-1-7, 5-5-5, 0-1-2-3. Do you have dental insurance you'd like us to check?
Caller: Yes, Delta Dental.
Receptionist: Got it. I've noted a new-patient cleaning request for weekday mornings. The front desk will call you tomorrow to confirm a time.
Why dental offices use an AI receptionist
- Front-desk staff juggle patients in the chair, patients at the counter and patients on the phone at the same time.
- New patients often call outside office hours, and many won't leave a voicemail.
- A receptionist that answers every call politely and consistently protects the practice's reputation.
Calls it handles
- ✓New patient appointment requests
- ✓Cleanings and checkups
- ✓Toothaches and broken teeth
- ✓Rescheduling and cancellations
- ✓Office hours, location and parking
- ✓Insurance accepted, if you give us the list
What it asks every caller
- ✓Patient name and best callback number, read back
- ✓New or existing patient
- ✓Reason for the visit, in the patient's own words
- ✓Insurance carrier, if you want it asked
- ✓Preferred days and times
- ✓Whether it's urgent, such as pain or swelling
Dental emergencies follow your protocol
If a caller describes trouble breathing, heavy bleeding or severe facial swelling, the receptionist tells them to call 911 or go to the emergency room. For toothaches and broken teeth, it follows your rules: book the next emergency slot, transfer to the on-call dentist, or flag it for a first-thing callback.
How booking works
It books into a Google Calendar, or takes appointment requests your team confirms the next morning if you'd rather keep the schedule in your practice software. It doesn't connect to dental practice-management systems directly. It collects scheduling details only, not medical history, and never gives clinical advice. Ask us about your privacy requirements before you start.
What it costs
Plans start at $49 a month for 100 minutes, about 40 calls. For most dental offices we recommend Growth: $99 a month for 500 minutes, with text summaries and live transfer of urgent calls. Every plan includes 24/7 answering, Google Calendar booking, recordings and transcripts, and setup done for you. See all plans.
Questions dental offices ask us
Is it HIPAA compliant?
We don't claim HIPAA compliance today. We set the receptionist to collect scheduling details only, such as name, number and reason for the visit, and not medical history. If your practice needs a business associate agreement, talk to us before you start.
Can it book directly into Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental?
No. It books into a Google Calendar or takes requests for your team to confirm. Requests let your team match each patient to the right chair and provider.
Will it answer insurance questions?
Only from the list you give us, such as which carriers you're in network with. For coverage details it tells the patient the office will check their benefits.
Can it answer only after hours?
Yes. You can forward calls only after hours, at lunch, or when the front desk doesn't pick up after a few rings.
